Corporate Social Responsibility Policies
This is a working document. It changes and develops as we change and develop as a company. It was last updated on March 18 2021.
Every company can do their bit to improve society and the world we live in.
Much larger companies than ours will create a mission statement, outlining everything they are committed to doing. Indeed many companies will have a board director with a specific CSR (corporate social responsibility) mandate.
We don’t have either.
CSR shouldn’t require a mission statement – it should be ingrained in the DNA of the company. And it should be the effective responsibility of every single member of staff.
In other words, CSR shouldn’t be difficult.
It should be embedded into a company’s culture; as simply the right thing to do from a decent, moral and ethical point of view.
And we like to think that’s precisely who we are.
Environmental
The little things all add up, so we endeavour to reduce our carbon footprint every day. From switching off un-used lights, to sourcing environmentally-friendly products for both everyday use and in the production of creative material, such as brochures, for our clients.
Wherever possible, we store information electronically and are working to minimise the number of things we have to print. And we embrace technology to allow us to work remotely – both from the office and our clients’ premises – when possible and appropriate.
Many of us are parents, so we’re conscious of the planet we’re going to leave behind for those that come after us.
Ethical
It goes without saying that we are intolerant of sexism, racism, homophobia and any other attitudes that seek to divide us.
We treat everybody – staff, suppliers, clients – with the same high level of respect and expect the same in return.
Many of our suppliers have worked with us for decades, and we only work with third parties we can be proud of.
We treat suppliers fairly and openly – and pay all invoices promptly.
We work hard with our staff to help them realise their potential, encouraging free speech and, as far as possible, involving the whole team in important business decisions.
If we succeed as a company then it’s a team success.
Philanthropy
We regularly work with a number of local and national charities, providing both free and discounted services.
We can’t do everything. And it’s probably not as much as we wish we could do but – as a small company with limited time – we’re happy that what we are doing makes a positive difference.
