On January 4 1967, whilst travelling at approximately 300 miles per hour, legendary speed record breaker Donald Campbell died at Coniston Water in the Lake District.

Holder of eight absolute world speed records on water and on land in the 1950s and 1960s, Campbell remains the only person to set both world land and water speed records in the same year (1964).

March 23 2021 marks the centenary of Donald Campbell’s birth and BZ has worked with the Campbell family and the Ruskin

Museum to produce two limited edition pin badges to raise funds to maintain and enhance the museum’s Campbell Collection.

The badge depicts Campbell’s iconic Bluebird logo – the name used in various configurations by both Donald and his father Sir Malcolm Campbell for their boats and cars – and the years 1921 and 2021.

Gina Campbell, Donald’s daughter said: “I am so happy, honoured and delighted that Coniston village together with The Ruskin Museum are celebrating my father’s centenary in such a befitting and interesting way. I am humbled by the generosity of everyone concerned to mark this special year in such a celebratory way.”

Ross Brown, client services director at BZ added: “We have a long history of working with both automotive companies and charitable organisations, so producing this pin badge to celebrate the centenary of Donald Campbell’s birth was an honour and a pleasure.”

Something a little different… It’s about to rain money on the UK economy
